Why God is not bad
Love exists, and life exists. How can anyone explain those two phenomena away?
God does seem bad though, especially to someone who doesn't know him at all.
So, how can somebody say God DOES exist if pain exists simultaneously?
Here's my answer to those questions, take it or leave it, God is good- He is glorified when we realize how small we are.
God is love and Jesus is life, so try to explain them away if you must, but my God is stronger than any scrutiny. Please know that he is real in your life when you allow him entrance.
God does good work in you
God does good through his people. As we submit to him, we become a little bit more like Jesus each day.
God does good work through you
God leads you to do the good works that He has planned for you to do. Really, its an easy settlement of opinion, God's work is the good work and you can spend your life serving him. Christ is Lord.
God gets the glory
Now, why does God want his people to praise him and serve him? I don't know. It feels right, but plenty of people have felt "right" doing lots of heinous acts.
So, the Holy Spirit leads you and then you walk as the sheep in Psalm 23.

God created the Devil did he not? So any problem that the Devil causes are solely to do with God's initial choice.
Blame not the fools who were created by the evil almighty one.
God, in His omniscience, created each one of us with a free will, to choose as we might. And so the devil, who was not always the devil, made his choice at one point in the history of Time and has been roaming the earth and the constellations ever since as the ultimate adversary of God's goodness. God is light; Satan, in all of his many forms, is darkness.

Philanthropy--thankyou very much for your insightful comment, I will probably read your hub about God being a sadist, (the title does not sound to far off from his biblical character, with all his sacrifices and wars and pain inflicted).
Part of me just makes me want to believe, and perhaps disillusionment will one day come, but my God is very alive and real in my life. Jesus Christ is love, and somehow, someway, assuming Jesus is real and the son of God, the messiah predicted in the old testament, then maybe pain is just a temporal purging of our lack of faith?

Exotic Hippie Queen, I agree with you, while it all may seem very confusing at times, God's light is the REAL light.
philanthropy2012: needs to brush up on the facts of the written word before making ill comments that do not coincide with what is written as a comment...God did not create the devil, read your bible, whether you believe in the word or not, it explains the history of Christianity.
Sorry Nurfninja that the first part was not directed toward you hub, just frustrates me when some one uses the comment section purely for personal relevance, instead of constructive criticism and it is not factual to boot.
I did enjoy your hub, but you have such a gift on this topic I would of loved to see this in a deeper light and maybe shun the disbelievers, and kudos to you for posting the negative comments. Some don't do this.

God created the arch angel Michael knowing he will become Satan. Do you dispute this statement?
Keeping in mind that God is both omniscient and omnipotent.
And I disagree that my comment is negative! I liked the hub, I voted it up! I thought that the comments section was a place to post comments! And I thought I should comment that I disagreed with the content and start a discussion. I have not seen anything about not being able to do so and neither have any knowledge of any faux pas about doing it! :o Sorry nonetheless?

"God is good" I disagree! My hub entitled "God is a sadist" shows how God is the worst entity imaginable for a human being!
